How do I set up my MIDI keyboard or device for recording?

First, you have to connect your midi instrument before starting FORTE. Then you have to open the MIDI options and set your keyboard as default MIDI In and Out (if you are using a midi device with an integrated sound module) device. Switch to the main tab 'Options' and select 'MIDI in'. A window will appear where you can select your MIDI keyboard (under Default Recording Device). Click on it and press 'Apply'. If your keyboard has an own sound module repeat the steps with the MIDI out options.

How to activate step recording in FORTE Basic:

To activate the step reording, switch to the main tab 'Record' and click on the red record button. Now you can select the note values with help of the elements palette. To enter notes simply press on a key of your keyboard.

To activate the step reording, switch to the main tab 'Record' and click on 'step' and also on the red record button. Now you can select the note values with help of the elements palette. To enter notes simply press on a key of your keyboard.

How to activate midi recording in FORTE Home or Premium:

To activate the midi reording, switch to the main tab 'Record' and click on the red record button. The recording will start immediately.
