How do I enter an accidental or a cautionary accidental?

To add an accidental, select the input palette with the corresponding accidental and enable the clip icon as well. Now click on the desired note to set the accidental.

If you wish to write a courtesy (just a refresher for the musician's memory), select the accidental, then select the brackets () and click on the desired note.
